My name is Beth Humphrey and I am a mixed media artist living in the beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  I studied many different art mediums and techniques for years and graduated with a Jewelry & Metalsmithing BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2007. 

I enjoy creating everything from fine jewelry to sculptures to paintings and drawings using all sorts of materials.  My medium choice for a project is mostly dependent on what calls to me as best suited for the piece and can often lead to intermixing mediums. 

I love using the surrealist idea of automatic drawing or drawing without thinking (also called doodling!)  This makes each work truly unique as even I don't know what my doodle will be until it flows through my hand and is created.  All of my doodles are kept for reference in endless volumes of scrapbooks.  Many of my doodles act as inspiration for my later finished artworks and jewelry designs.

Then for a plot twist in the mix, the more mathematical side of my personality incorporates into my tendency to create pieces on the smaller scale with a high attention to detail (very helpful for some of my more intricate works.)
