Marty the monkey sits atop his pearl inside a golden cage of jewels that hangs from a royal purple cord adorned with more gemstones. Inspired by a 15th century pendant, I hand scuplted Marty and his bead treasures in polymer clay and painted each with acrylic paint. Each of the beads has a sterling silver tube lining the inside of its hole to increase its durability.

Marty’s cage is approximately 1 1/2 inches (3.81 cm) wide, 2 3/8 inches (6 cm) tall, and 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm) deep. The necklace cord is 34 inches (86.4 cm) long and just slips over your head.
