Sterling Silver Wampum Studs
Wampum shells found on Nauset Beach in Orleans, MA were hand selected for a match of their colors and shapes. They are bezel set into hand fabricated sterling silver stud earrings with hypoallergenic 14K yellow gold posts and standard sterling silver butterfly earring backs.
Wampum, treasured for its beautiful hues and stripes of purples and whites, is formed from fragments of quahog seashells that nature has tumbled smooth. Historically, it was used by Native Americans of Cape Cod and other coastal areas for both bargaining and decorative purposes.
