Sterling Silver Tarrn the Kyree Wolf Among Books, Brooch

This one of a kind piece is based on the character, Tarrn from the book, "Storm Breaking" by Mercedes Lackey. Tarrn is a kyree, which is a very intelligent wolf-like species known for documenting the history of the book's fantasy world through story telling. In the book, Tarrn is laboriously researching an answer to the story's problem through an ancient library discovered by the main characters.

The frame of the brooch is a series of books carved in wax and cast into sterling silver. The silver was then oxidized with patina and polished where the books' pages show. Tarrn is carefully sculpted in polymer clay with glass beads for his eyes. His body is made of a mix of browns and textured to mimick fur. Tarrn's front and back are meticulously lined up on the brooch so it really looks like Tarrn is reaching through the stack of books to show you what he found in his research.

The brooch is approximately 2 inches (5.1 cm) wide, 1 1/4 inches (3.2 cm) tall, and 3/4 inches (1.8 cm) deep.
